Elite Futsal Showcase
Event Overview:
Men’s Open Division teams will compete over 3 dates to determine the futsal champion of the region.
Women’s Open Division and all Youth/ Legends Divisions will compete in exhibition style contests.
Tournament Format:
Men’s Open Competitive
The first 2 dates are pool play. Teams are awarded 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss. Group A will play on 1/20/20. Group B will play on 2/17/20. The top 2 teams from each group will advance to bracket play on the 3rd and final date.
Seeding will be determined within group by points accumulated during pool play, with tie-breakers going to 1. head-to-head result, 2. goal differential, 3. total goals scored, 4. least goals allowed. Group A #1 vs Group B #2 in Semi-final #1, Group A #2 vs. Group B #1 in Semi-final #2. Winners will play in the Championship match.
Game Format:
2 x 20 minute halves running time except last 2 minutes of the game for fouls, cards, injuries, etc. 5 minute halftime. Pool play games and exhibition matches will end in a tie. Bracket play games ending in a tie will 1. go to golden goal, 5 minute overtime 2. go to penalty kick shoot-out 3 v 3, 1 v 1 after that. Unlimited substitutions. Each team is allowed 1 timeout per half (1 minute) use it or lose it.
Rosters:
Tournament is open to anyone. Tournament roster unlimited, game roster limited to 12 players. No one player can be on 2 rosters. Players in the final need to have played in at least one of the pool play games.
